RAYMOND, Alberta – American Creek Resources Ltd. (TSX Venture: AMK) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed Phase I of the 2006 exploration program on its Electrum Project near Stewart, British Columbia. The program consisted of soil geochemistry, ground geophysics and 1041 metres of diamond drilling in 11 holes. Highlights of the drill program include 10.5 g/t gold, 89.7 g/t silver, and 5.34% zinc over 1.4 metres; 2.98 g/t gold, 501.0 g/t silver over 0.6 metres; 2.78 g/t gold, 58.9 g/t silver over 0.4 metres; and 3.53 g/t gold with 14.6 g/t silver over 0.6 metres.

Drilling was designed to further test quartz-sulphide veining that was previously delineated by surface exploration on the property. Drilling was completed from 3 drill pads located within the claims.

Significant mineralized intercepts from the 11 drill holes are tabled below. True widths are unknown.

A rigorous quality control program and quality assurance protocol is utilized on the project including blank and reference samples with each batch of assays. All samples were analyzed by AU fire assay (30 g) and multi-element (28) ICP at EcoTech Laboratory Ltd. in Kamloops, British Columbia.

“We are very pleased with the results of the initial drilling. Not only were some significant values obtained, but measurable grades of gold and/or silver appeared in virtually all of the core, indicating wide-spread dissemination throughout the system” stated Allan Burton, President. “This confirms the results of our previous exploration. We’ll continue the exploration program as soon as we can get a drill in the ground. We’re very excited about the potential of the Electrum Project and look forward to some very positive results.”

Due to the success of phase I, a phase II exploration program will commence immediately and will consist of geochemical sampling and blast trenching along with an additional 2000 meters of diamond drilling. Aggressive Diamond Drilling of Kelowna, British Columbia, has been contracted to do the drilling and will be arriving on site in approximately 1 week.

American Creek Resources Ltd. is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of gold and silver deposits, with 8 projects in the Province of British Columbia, Canada.

The Electrum Project is located in the “Golden Triangle” approximately 45 km north of Stewart, British Columbia, near past operating mines including the Riverside, Scotty Gold, Granduc, and Silbak-Premier. Barrick’s world-class Eskay Creek mine is located approximately 50km north of the project. The Electrum is road accessible via the government-maintained Granduc haul road and is only 45km from North America’s most northerly concentrate shipping port located in Stewart.

The Electrum Project encompasses the historic East Gold mine that, in intermittent small-scale mining between 1939 and 1965, produced approximately 46 tonnes of hand-picked ore from narrow quartz-sulphide veins. The East Gold mine production results for silver, gold, copper, lead and zinc are summarized as follows:

Exploration during 2005 resulted in the discovery of extensive gossan formations and mineralized exposures covering a significant portion of the property. Of the 1368 preliminary surface samples, collected by contractors, from various locations on the project, 260 returned assays of 1 g/t gold or higher (to 80.96 g/t gold), and 223 samples returned assays of 100 g/t silver or higher (to 0,818 g/t silver).

Chip sampling by professional geologists of selected veins within the alteration zones returned values up to 54.77 g/t gold and 14,903 g/t silver over a width of 30 centimeters including:

  • 54.77 g/t gold with 14,903 g/t silver over 0.3 meters
  • 1.82 g/t gold with 560.0 g/t silver over 1.5 meters
  • 0.60 g/t gold with 686.0 g/t silver over 0.5 meters
  • 1.18 g/t gold with 211.0 g/t silver over 1.2 meters
  • 2.97 g/t gold with 79.0 g/t silver over 1.0 meter
  • 1.06 g/t gold with 115.0 g/t silver over 1.2 meters
  • 1.43 g/t gold with 145.0 g/t silver over 1.0 meter
  • 3.28 g/t gold with 12.0 g/t silver over 1.8 meters

Exploration is continuing on the Electrum property including the recent completion of geophysical surveying and soil geochemical sampling. Preliminary results of these surveys show geophysical anomalies indicative of high sulphide content in bedrock, coincident with elevated gold and silver in soils. American Creek consultants are currently compiling the results of these surveys in order to define targets for Phase II work.

The Corporation commenced trading on the TSX Venture Exchange on September 6, 2006 under the stock symbol “AMK”.

Perry Grunenberg, P. Geo. and Linda Dandy, P. Geo. are the qualified persons in compliance with National Instrument 43-101 for the Electrum Project.
