Raymond, Alberta - American Creek Resources Ltd. (“American Creek”) (TSX Venture: AMK) is pleased to report the results of an airborne geophysical survey on its Empire Project, located near Kamloops, British Columbia. American Creek contracted Fugro Airborne Surveys Corp. of Mississauga, Ontario to conduct the survey. The survey procedures and compilation of results were overseen by Peter E. Walcott and Associates of Vancouver, BC.
The purpose of the survey was to obtain magnetic and radiometric data from the expansive land package owned by American Creek, and to correlate geophysical signatures to the mapped geology and mineral showings in the area. The airborne survey was flown at a nominal terrain clear ance of 60 metres on east-west flight lines spaced 200 metres apart using an AS350B2 helicopter with a stinger mounted magnetometer and a 256 channel spectrometer. Additional infill lines at 100 metre spacing were flown over two areas encompassing known mineral occurrences. A total of 1,070 line kilometres of survey were completed.
Colour contour plots of the total magnetic field intensity and total count radioactivity, as well as individual counts of potassium, thorium and uranium were generated from the corrected airborne data. Consultants contracted to American Creek are currently compiling regional geological and geochemical data to overlay the airborne geophysical maps in order to generate targets for ground follow-up. Of particular interest are zones within the property that contain bodies of granitic rocks that intrude into the surrounding volcanic and sedimentary rocks. The intrusive bodies present distinctive geophysical features, and are known to be associated with many of the mineral showings in the area, including gold and base metal veins. Also, targeting will include potential alkali porphyry systems similar to the Afton deposit located to the south near Kamloops, within similar geologic terrain. The airborne data indicates that there are a substantial number of target areas that warrant follow-up.
American Creek will be commencing an exploration program December 1, 2006 to establish survey grids over target areas. The exploration program will include magnetometer surveying and mapping/prospecting over the grids. Currently six areas are proposed for follow-up work. The Company has also secured a drill contractor who will be available for diamond drilling those targets generated from the follow-up ground surveys.
The Company also wishes to announce that based on the positive airborne results, an aggregate of 5,300 hectares of additional land has been staked in two separate areas adjacent to the Empire Project.
The Empire Project is located 24 kilometres north of Kamloops and consists of claims covering approximately 20,500 hectares. American Creek holds a 100% interest in the property. The Empire is contiguous with American Creek’s 100% owned Bullion Project.
American Creek Resources Ltd. is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of gold and silver deposits, with 8 projects in the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
The Company commenced trading on the TSX Venture Exchange on September 6, 2006 under the symbol “AMK”.
