At the recently held Minerals North conference, Lyn Anglin, Geoscience B.C., announced the launch of a $3 million exploration program which will include airborne geophysical surveys, a regional ground geochemical program and bedrock geological mapping.  This project will be named the QUEST-Northwest Project and will include portions of the “Golden Triangle”, where American Creek’s Electrum, Tide, Treaty Creek, and Slippery Willow projects are located."

This is a significant program that will help move our projects forward with no expense to our shareholders” says American Creek Resources president Allan Burton.  “It was a similar government program that led to the discovery of the magnetite/vanadium deposit on our Ironmist project near Kamloops.  This could not only help define deposits on our properties, but show how they relate to the many other deposits in this intensely enriched area.”  For more information on QUEST-Northwest, please see Geoscience BC's website at www.geosciencebc.com.

The conference, held in Stewart, British Columbia, focused on the Golden Triangle, an area rich with past producing mines and some of the world’s largest deposits moving towards feasibility.  You can find more information on the Golden Triangle here. Presenters and attendees included exploration and mining companies, suppliers, and government officials.

BC Hydro representative, Bruce Barrett, spoke on the recently approved Northwest Transmission Line (NTL), which is an approximately 344 km, 287 kV transmission line between Skeena Substation (near Terrace) and a new substation to be built near Bob Quinn Lake. This line will provide a reliable supply of clean power to potential mining developments in the area.  On May 5th, 2011 the Federal Government approved construction of the $404 million transmission line.  The significance of this development cannot be overstated, as it will provide needed electrical power to one of the hottest exploration areas in Canada.

Several presentations were given on advanced projects located in the Golden Triangle, including the Red Chris and Galore Creek projects.

Seabridge Gold and Pretium Resources highlighted the massive potential and size of their respective KSM and Snowfield / Brucejack deposits, both of which neighbour American Creek’s Treaty Creek project.  On May 2, 2011, Seabridge Gold announced an updated Preliminary Feasibility Study (“PFS”) which can be found at www.seabridgegold.net.  The PFS confirms Seabridge’s plan to construct tunnels through American Creek’s Treaty Creek property.  The PFS states “The proposed tunnel route is through crown land and approximately 15 km of its length passes through ground subject to mineral claims held by third parties.”  Information on Pretium’s Snowfield / Brucejack projects can be found at www.pretivm.com.

On May 9, 2011, Seabridge and Pretium announced in a joint press release that they had signed Mutual Cooperation and Confidentiality Agreements that provide for the preparation of an engineering study to examine the economics of combining Seabridge's KSM project and Pretium's Snowfield project as a single operation, which together would be the largest undeveloped gold resource in North America.

Presentations from all parties are expected to be available by the end of May at www.mineralsnorth.com.

American Creek is looking forward to the upcoming exploration program on its Electrum Project located in the heart of the Golden Triangle.  We are currently planning the 2011 program and look forward to returning to this project.
